On this Memorial Day weekend I would like to thank all pesent and past service men and women for their great service to the United States Of America. I have a 21 year old son in the US Air Force and although he is not serving in a war area yet his dedication to this great country of ours is nothing short of amazing. He has volunteered to go to Iraq and is on a waiting list at his base in Montana. It never ceases to amaze my wife and I how dedicated and brave our people in the armed forces are to pledge their lives to keeping us free to persue our interests and passions like discussing audio products! A big salute to our troops here and far away!!!! THANK YOU! and stay safe

I too hope and pray for the safe return of our sailors as they are least likely to die in the line of duty. Our brave seamen need to deposit their semen in the lovely ladies working at the bathhouses back at port.
I pray that the women waiting for their brave solider husbands to die serving our elitist leaders will contract various forms of STD's which will make these heartless pregnant doges sterile. I pray that my advanced degree insulates me and my offspring from dying for a country that loves nobody including god.
I pray that my citizenship papers for Canada go through as I fear for my safety from a terrorist attack by my own government.
I also pray that the LMC-1/LPA-1 combo is much better than some have said.
I throw salt over my shoulder when thinking about

nilescrane... watch it.
This is precisely why I wish to keep things audio-related here, and I will delete this thread if need be.
You are entitled to free speech, of course, and so I'm not immediately going to censor this, but this pushes the line. There is no reason to make comments such as this. If you were trying to be amusing, it didn't work - at least not to me. Your comments seem reminiscent of someone who was recently banned over on AVS (Hans Gruber). If you are that same person, please do not bring your spiteful dialog here. If you're not that person, my apologies, but please try to be respectful to others. Children know that rule, let's try to follow it here.
We all have our own opinions, but sometimes it is not appropriate to express that opinion. The current situation in this country is extremely polarizing. It is definitely something that all Americans need to discuss freely and openly, and with as much respect as possible for eachother. But this forum is not the place to discuss this, so please refrain from doing so.
On a personal level, I disagree with the war as well and feel that this country has some of the poorest leadership it has ever had. But I would never speak disrespectfully about our armed forces or their families. They deserve better than that, especially on Memorial Day.
I sincerely hope you enjoy your new life in Canada.

Ugh. Well said, Admin. I come to home theater forums to talk home theater, not politics (whatever the political angle being presented) or religion (whatever the faith in question). When either subject does arise, I try to be as open-minded as I can - so long as the discussion itself allows open-mindedness. Insulting military personnel because you dislike the political leadership in Washington is not what I'd classify as open-minded, and it has no place on this or any forum. Nilescrane, there's a button near the top right corner of your post (assuming that you are logged in) that says "Modify" - I'd suggest that a good man would click on that link and weed out those comments that disrespect military personnel. Just a thought...

I'm sorry for my previous comments. I misunderstood this part of the forum. I thought this section of the forum was for stating nonsense. I thought this was a section similar to confession with a priest in a catholic church. I also remember the Vietnam war where returning soliders were beaten, shamed, condemed an basically persecuted for fighting a war for the United States, but that's neither here nor there.

I also remember the Vietnam war where returning soliders were beaten, shamed, condemed an basically persecuted for fighting a war for the United States, but that's neither here nor there. Exactly the sort of nonsense that I sincerely hope this war's veterans can be spared. Based on your profile, you and I are of the same generation (too young to have had any direct role in or experience with the Vietnam era) but we do have an opportunity to help avoid repeating at least that part of our society's history by showing today's soldiers our respect and support.
